Crowns and Bridges

Here at Cattafesta Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we are proud to offer porcelain crowns and bridges to our patients.

Getting porcelain crowns is the best way to get a very natural-looking smile. They are used when simply filling in a tooth is not an option. There are times when the decay is so bad that we just have to use a porcelain crown. We also use them with severely damaged teeth or teeth that have already had multiple fillings.

Porcelain fixed bridges are a great way to have natural-looking teeth. The teeth are attached to a metal bridge. The bridges are then fixed to your regular teeth so that they stay in place. It may be necessary to use crowns over your regular teeth to keep the bridge in place.

How Do Crowns Work?

Porcelain crowns are attached right to your teeth so that they can function normally even when you bite something hard! There are several types of porcelain crowns, so it is important to discuss with your dentist which type is best for you.

It is also very important to use a dentist who is skilled in porcelain crowns so that you have the best chance at getting a natural smile. Our dentists work hard to ensure you have a smile of which you can be proud.

Am I a Candidate For A Bridge?

Porcelain fixed bridges are used to replace missing teeth. It is an extremely safe way to replace your teeth, giving you a smile of which you can be proud!

Porcelain fixed bridges are very durable and should last a long time, though you may need to have them re-cemented if they become loose.

Whether or not you are worried about your smile, bridges are also used to keep your remaining teeth in place. They help you eat and speak much better, not to mention they give you a beautiful smile of which you can be proud!

Inlays and Onlays

Here at Cattafesta Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we are proud to offer dental inlays and onlays to our patients.

Dental inlays and onlays are considered a conservative method of treating damaged teeth. They are used instead of crowns. Some dentists even use inlays and onlays to treat tooth decay. Instead of filling in the tooth, your dentist may use dental inlays and onlays.

Dental inlays and onlays are made in a dental lab and then fitted to your teeth. They are then bonded to your teeth.

What’s the Difference Between An Inlay and an Onlay?

The difference between an inlay and an onlay is how much of the tooth it covers. If the material is bonded to the center of the tooth, it is considered an inlay. If it covers your whole tooth or more than one point of your tooth, it is considered an onlay.

If you have any questions about dental inlays or onlays, don’t hesitate to contact us today at 703-620-4050.
